As their daughter, it is natural for you to also want the best for them. You do not want to disappoint them and hope that you make them happy always. While it’s not possible to make people happy at all times, there are certain things you can do as a daughter to ensure that your parents are always proud of you.

How to Be a Good Daughter

1.    Talk to Them As Often As You Can

Every parent wants their daughter to trust them enough to talk to them when they are happy and when they are feeling low. Therefore, don’t be afraid to call your parents when you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders the same way you would call them when happy. Share your achievements, both big and small. Your parents are your biggest cheerleaders and it makes them happy to feel involved.

2.    Accept Their Gifts

Once you start working and earning your keep, it is okay to still accept help from your parents. Allow them to buy you gifts and pay your bills if they want to. They do not do it out of duty but out of love for you. It makes them happy to know that you are okay.

When they give you gifts, it is okay to think of something thoughtful to give them too. They will feel as good as you do when you receive gifts.

3.    Lead a Happy Life

According to studies, the well being of any parent is somewhat dependent on the life their child leads. This is because your problems are your parent’s problems. It worries them when you are not happy and leading the kind of life they would want you to have. Therefore, do as much as you can to ensure you lead a happy life. It makes them happy and gives them peace of mind knowing you're doing okay.
